Recordkeeping survey results

Now that the 2014-15 Recordkeeping Survey has drawn to a close, we thought you’d like to see the final progress report.

Firstly, a big thank you to all of our agencies that participated in the 2014-15 Recordkeeping Survey. In the 2013 Survey, all Queensland Government agencies were required to complete it. However, in the 2014-15 Survey, there were some exemptions and only those agencies that manage their own records were required to participate. We had a great response rate of 79% with 193 agencies completing the survey. Well done!

Survey findings

For the first time, we are presenting the survey results using a variety of methods, including:

These methods are explained in further detail below:

2014-15 Report on the Recordkeeping Survey of Queensland Public Authorities

2014-15 Survey Report has been finalised following a comprehensive analysis of agency responses to the survey. It combines all the responses from across all Queensland government agencies and groups them by sector e.g. department, local government and other public authority.

Summary report and Infographic

Feedback we received from previous surveys indicated that people would be interested in a condensed version of the Survey Reports. So in addition to the formal Survey Report, we have also developed a Summary Report and supporting infographic of the survey highlights.

Scorecards

During September 2015, individual scorecards were sent to all the agencies that completed the survey. We received some great feedback. Overall, people told us that the scorecard was a beneficial tool to raise awareness in agencies and that they would like to see something similar in future surveys.

Open data

Another first is the release of de-identified survey data through the Queensland Government’s Open Data portal. At the beginning of the survey, agencies were required to indicate on a checkbox if they consented to the release of their survey data. The dataset that will be released is from those consenting agencies and all identifying fields and free text have been removed. We will let you know when the data has been released on the portal.

Where can I find the published reports?

You’ll find the Survey report, Summary report and infographic in the Monitor section of QSA’s dedicated recordkeeping page, The Recordkeeping Spot.
